The University of Ibadan academic calendar has always witnessed different revision in each academic session for a long time now due to numerous breaks which would always manifest as a result of different industrial actions by the teaching and non teaching staff, school closure by the management due to protests by students and so on. The ASUU strike combined with covid-19 break, is the most recent one that kept students away from school for 11months
The present academic session (2020/21) which should have been the (2019/20) session started on the 1st of March, 2021 immediately after the long break. The 2019/20 session was however cancelled by the school authorities because the University of Ibadan was already far behind. This means that one academic calendar(level) is wasted for every student of the institution, this also led to the non intake of jambite for this year.
Since the start of this jinx breaking session, there has been no break. Lectures, tests and exams have been back to back.
Some departments such as pharmacy, Environmental Health Science and other medical departments have started their practical exams. However the 2020/21 second semester examination will start officially on Monday 8th of November, 2021 for all departments with GES courses
