Facebook is one of the most popular social media platform that use by many people around the globe. Every day thousands of new users signing in in Facebook.. As of 2020 present days,Facebook entered the top social media platforms to surpass the one billion users among the others, there are 2.5 billion total of Facebook users with 1.49 active users according to statistica.com. It ranked the top 3 most popular social media of 2020, first is Instagram and Youtube in 2nd rank according to spark.adobe.
Facebook is the best medium of communication to connect people around the globe. Aside from its amazing features, it can also easily access by many, whether young and old. Every individual has 2-3 facebook accounts with different use and purposes including me lol. I know you have many accounts too.
We can easily use our facebook accounts but, are they safe to hacking? Are they fully secured? Well, this article will remind you and give you some tips to put security in your Facebook accounts. Users usually just signing up without setting securities to their accounts. Setting securities can protect our accounts in hacking and sniffing by other people. If hacker accessed your account, there are possibilities that they will use it to harm other people including your families and friend using your account. That’s too bad right?
Here are some easy steps and tips to set securities to your Facebook accounts.
1.)Login to your facebook account at facebook.com obviously.
2.) Go to settings click it, scroll down and find ‘Security and Login’ click it.Inside Security and Login, there are:
a.Choose friends to contact if you get locked out
You have/can nominate 3 to 5 of your friends to help you if your account is locked out. This setting is recommended by facebook. Make sure to choose the best people to contact with in case(best friends or family).
Below of Choosing Friends options, there are list of devices that you were use to logged previously. You can check it if there are unrecognized devices and locations listed on it, if there is, you should remove and change your password immediately.
b.Change password
In this option, obviously you have to change your password into stronger one. Your password should be combination of characters,numbers and letters.
c.)Save your login info(it should turned on)
Inside of it, there are the lists of Devices and Browsers you have previously used with their Time and Date, Apps used and Devices.
d. Use two-factor authentication
Inside of it, there Authentication App and Text Message. You can download the Google Authenticator App to generate verification codes that can help to recover your account in case. Or you can use the text message option.Make sure that you use active mobile numbers.
f.Get alerts about unrecognized logins(you should turn it on)
Inside of it, there are Add email address option, notifications, messenger and email.
You should add your active email and messenger to receive notification from Facebook in case someone logs your facebook account from device or browser that you don’t usually use.
