Circumcision is the removal of a certain amount of skin from the tip of the penis, which is called Muslim in our country, perhaps because Muslims practice it seriously. Muslims think it is an important part of life.
It has been practiced in ancient Egypt since 2,300 years before the birth of Jesus. According to Grafton Elliot Smith, it was introduced more than 15,000 years ago. It was also prevalent among Jews before Muslims.
Why circumcision is done
Muslims and Christians are circumcised for religious reasons. Some diseases like phimosis, paraphimosis require circumcision or Muslim. Phimosis is when the skin on the head of the penis covers the urethra in such a way that it cannot pass urine properly. Unable to urinate, the head of the penis becomes swollen and the baby starts crying in pain. If this continues for a long time, urinary tract infection and even kidney failure can occur. Again, many times the skin on the head of the penis is turned upside down and becomes tight. As a result, the skin can no longer be moved back and forth. In this case swelling towards the head and blood circulation is obstructed. In both cases there is an urgent need for circumcision. Many times the penis of small children can get stuck with the chain of the pants. Circumcision is often done in such situations.
The benefits of circumcision
There are several benefits to circumcision, the most notable of which are:
1. Bacterial infections are reduced in that part of the penis;
2. Helps to prevent various sexually transmitted diseases such as penile cancer of the husband, cervical cancer of the wife, etc .;
3. Husband and wife benefit during sexual intercourse, etc.
Also in some diseases (phimosis, balanitis, balanoposthitis) doctors cut off the skin of the penis.
You may be surprised to know that circumcision has its benefits! The most important benefit is that circumcision can prevent cancer of the penis. Studies have shown that circumcision alone does not cause cancer among Muslims and Christians. A type of white substance accumulates under the extra skin of the head of the penis and this is responsible for the cancer of the penis.
When not to be circumcised
Circumcision cannot be performed in hypospadiasis. This is a congenital defect of the penis. In this the urethra is not from the head of the penis to the bottom. In this case treatment has to be done and this birth defect has to be fixed before circumcision. Blood tests should be done before circumcision. Because it has also been observed that circumcision alone has caused many patients to die as a result of bleeding. Many babies may have congenital bleeding problems. Therefore, it is important to check if the baby has congenital bleeding problems before circumcision.
Caution
It goes without saying that circumcision by an experienced doctor is not a problem. However, circumcision with hajams can cause bleeding to stop, excess or less skin to be cut off, and the sensitive head of the penis to be cut off. These problems are unlikely to occur in the case of an experienced physician. Circumcision by a doctor instead of a barber thinking about the child's future. All hospitals in Bangladesh perform circumcision and the cost is very low.
