Introduction : Manpower means the rate at which a man can work. Of all the powers on earth,manpower Is the best asset of a nation. Man's hands are tools that help a nation economically grow mighty and prosperous. Our Bangladesh is an over-populated country. In this country we have about 0 million people. So it may be said that we have much manpower.

What manpower means : Manpower means right man for right places or right work. It also neans human resource for human development. Actually population is an important asset of acountry. When a country is able to give her people work and people can do good for her then the people are called manpower.

Present manpower situation:Bangladesh is an over-populated country in consideration of its land area. At present the position of manpower in our country is that we have too many people but not enough of the right skilled people in the right places. Nowadays we can not use our manpower in right work as they are not properly skilled. Our manpower is large enough to do a particular work. But our country cannot afford people sufficient work. So our population becomes a problem. At present, Bangladesh can not afford to give her people the basic necessaries of life such as food, cloth, shelter, education and medical facilities.

Dependent people : One-third of our total population is children. The children and the old who are more than sixty four years old are dependent people. To do good for our country is difficult. Our children and the people advanced in years are unskilled enough to do work. They can not play any role to do good to our country. They are as burdens.

What we should do : In Bangladesh we have limited scope, resources and fields. So we cannot provide the unlimited number of people for a particular work or place. If we like to use our manpower properly, we must create scope, work and find out our natural wealth, Moreover, our people must be given proper training for proper work. When we will ensure the scopes of work and utilize our natural resources we will be able to use our manpower properly.

Manpower, Importance in economy: Manpower can play an important role in our national economy. We should utilize our manpower to increase our national income. A good number of our people are going to other countries. They send money to us and help to prosper the economic condition of our country.

Conclusion : Manpower is a great gift of nature. Skilled manpower is a great resource to a country. Bangladesh is rich in unskilled manpower. So to do for its good we should try our best to make our population skilled. We must use our population properly. We must appoint right people for right work. This will enable us to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.
