Tomato sauce recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 kg ‏Tomato

  • 1 tbsp ‏Chopped onion

  • 3 cloves ‏Garlic

  • 1 tsp or to taste ‏Sugar

  • To taste ‏Salt

  • 1 tsp ‏Red chili powder

  • 1/4 tsp ‏Cinnamon powder

  • 1/4 tsp ‏Cloves powder

  • 2 tbsp ‏Vinegar

  • 1 tsp ‏Corn flour


 

Directions:

1Wash tomatoes and drain. Then cut into slices. Take them in a sauce pan and add onion, garlic and a small amount of water. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or till tomatoes are perfectly cooked. Let it cool completely.

2Now blend tomatoes in a blender. Do not use any water at this time. Strain through a strainer to separate the peels and seeds of tomatoes. We will have a smooth tomato paste to make sauce.



3Take them in a pan on medium-low heat. Add sugar, salt, red chili powder, cinnamon powder, cloves powder and mix well. Stir and cook for 5-7 minutes. Then add vinegar and cook for another 2 minutes.

4Now in a small bowl mix corn flour and water. Add this mixture in the sauce and stir thoroughly. This will help in thickening the sauce and absorbing extra water so that you can store the sauce for a long time. When you will get the exact consistency of your sauce turn the flame off. Let it cool completely. Then store in a glass jar for 2 months in normal temperature. You can store this in refrigerator as well for about six months. Enjoy this sauce with your favorite food items.
