Good morning friends, it's a beautiful Sunday morning here in Nigeria. I hope you had a good night rest.
Here's my prayer for you today
May God's love and mercy never depart from your life today. He will guide your steps and be with you today. Amen
Mr Chris, a seventy year old man, stays on the verandah of his house reflecting and remembering the old times. He sits on the chair beside him as his legs were responding to the weaknesses.
He remembers when he was 22 years old, he remembered he was faced with a decision of choosing where to work after the completion of his university. Oh beautiful memories!
He was reflecting until he came to where he missed it. It was in his 38th year. His journey downward started when he started making friends with Mr Scholes. Mr Scholes was a fellow worker in his company although a junior staff to Mr Chris. They were friends.
A contract was to be awarded by Mr Chris' company, and Mr Chris was to vet and certify the people that applied for the contracts.
But there was a man who had connived with Mr Scholes to convince Mr Chris to pick him, at the long run, Mr Chris picked him without going through the normal procedures needed.
The man that the work was contracted to did a very bad job which led to the sack of Mr Chris, hereby, starting his journey into pain.
Life is a journey filled with many twists and turns. Disasters and dangers are along the way, same with success and victory. The experience we face in life are often the result of the company and the decisions we keep and make as we go on this journey of life.
Regrettably and unfortunately, so many people go through life either alone or with the wrong company.
They are so different from a man in the Bible called Moses
God had commanded Moses to return to Egypt on probably the greatest mission any man had done up till then.
He was to convince Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, to set the Isrealites free and allow them to leave his nation to serve God in the promised land.
On Moses' part, he had settled into a regular life of a family man, and was now being taken from his comfort zone and sent on a big duty. With the support of his father-in-law, Jethro, he gathered his wife and sons, and set out on the journey.
God had warned him that it was not going to be an easy task convincing Pharaoh to free the Isrealites. However, he was to remain consistent with the message: "Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son.... Let my son go, that he may serve me".
As he meditated on this assignment on his way back to Egypt, he encountered another serious challenge: God threatened to kill his son who he had not circumcised (this was necessary as a descendant of Abraham). Until his wife, reluctantly and with much complaint, obeyed and circumcised their son, their journey was almost aborted.
You need something to help your heart and reassure you as you go through life. You need the presence and power of God with you. With Him on your side, you will not fear what any man can do to you.
Allow His word to guide you always, believe His promises that cannot and will not fail, obey every of His command and look up to Jesus always, then you will neither fail nor fall.
You will also trust God to help you choose the right people that will walk with you in this journey of life. People that will push you and motivate you to be a better version of yourself.
People that will not massage your ego, people that are blunt and hard, people that will correct you when you're erring.
May God favour you with good friends.
Amen.
These are my amazing sponsors. Do well to check them out.
Happy Sunday friends✌️✌️
Excellent article I was fascinated by the final part and I also believe that we do not need someone to praise us but people who speak to us sincerely and tell us what we are doing wrong without euphemism, that make us see the reality as it is even if it hurts us but only then we can wake up from our unreality and face life as it comes. Blessings!
