Text: Gen 41:43
"And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had and they cried out before him saying,'Bow the knee!' So he set him over all the land of Egypt."
When Potiphar made Joseph overseer of his house, putting all that he had under Joseph's authority, Joseph may have been tempted to think that that was God's vindication for him. But no, it was nothing compared to where God was taking him. He was brought low again when he was accused wrongly by Potiphar's wife and taken to the prison. Again, while in prison, he found favour with the prison keeper who put him in charge of the other prisoners. When Pharaoh's chief butler and baker were put in prison for three days and Joseph interpreted their dreams, Joseph asked the chief butler to remember him when he was restored to his office. Like it was established yesterday, vain is the help of man. Man may forget to help and is also limited in the help he can offer. It is only through the Omnipotence of God that a man gets a complete turn around. The bible records that the butler forgot Joseph but God did not.
Notice that whenever Joseph got to, he was made head but God had better plans for him. After 13 years of slavery, God's ultimate plan for his life materialised. Pharaoh made him ruler over Egypt and this marked a complete end to all his misery. Upon his announcement as ruler, people were asked to bow their knee, everyone including Potiphar and his wife and Joseph's brothers.
Joseph's life was changed completely even though there was no glimpse of hope in all that he went through. However, he held unto God and God changed his story completely. That is your portion as you continue to hold unto God who is able to lift you from every low place to the top to His praise and glory.
