Sometimes we can’t get enough of the good old days. The easy and fun life we had before cellphones and internet and gadgets are not our toys. We didn't care of the heat of the sun just to play outside with neighbors and friends, we then go home with dirty clothes full of muds with a pile of rubberbands in our wrist. We often get scolded with this "Ang dumu-dumi mo na naman!" and "Ang dami mo ng bungang araw bata ka!" lines with matching pinch in our side or else we got hit with a stick. We then cry but our mothers will clean us and give us food to comfort us.
Those times when we were all excited to go outside our house and play play teks, Chinese garter, Piko, patintero, taguan, tumbang preso, siato, sipa, luksong tinik and beyblades. We also play "tinda-tindahan" and the money we pay are leaves. Way back in school, we always left 3 pesos of our "baon" just to buy ice scramble outside the school and go to the nearest park where children will play.
There is also this memory that if we pull the white/gray hair of our lolos/lolas/mama/papa, every hair is equivalent to .25 cents. After earning such money, we go to tindahan and buy bobot, tarzan, nata or mik-mik and so much more. We also remember the time when the whole family ate around the dinner table and everyone enjoyed face-to-face conversations. We hear chuckles and laughters, where we pay attention to wisdoms and advices from our parent.
