A friend asked me to pray for her career as she is applying for a higher position and hoping to get hired. I said "sure, not a problem". But deep inside I feel jealous. I even thought of her as insensitive knowing that her friend's been stagnant for a while now. I would be lying if I'll say my intentions are pure of praying for her. Does that make me a bad friend? 🥺

Hmmm, that's really bad, I mean she's your friend you should be happy for her. It's okay to envy a little but don't let it into your head, it will turn insecurities in the future. Make her an inspiration to strive harder, make your jealousy a tool to pursue your goals. Everyone has it's timing, wait for your turn but make sure you also do your part. Nobody is stagnant as long as you keep going.
I feel bad for myself too. I know it's bad but insecurities are drowning me. 💔
Don't worry, I was like that too before but try to get rid of it, it's not healthy thinking. Insecurities won't bring you good but lose your self-esteem in the process.
Insecurity crossed my mind initially though, then I managed to shrug it off after realizing it's unhealthy. 😅
Good for you to realize it right after, some people are eaten by insecurities and hardly get rid of it.
That's true. I'm slowly getting rid of it. Mind over matter. Will just keep reminding myself ☺️
Well good for you then😊
Thank you for your time and advice. I find it so helpful ☺️
Hmmm. Just pray for her :) Someday its your turn naman and that friend would also pray for you :)
I really hope so. This reminds me that I need to practice what I preach 🤦
Take it slow :) Pagpray mo din hehe
Hehe. I need to. Thanks for your advice and time mommy yen ☺️
that's human nature but pls be happy for her..there's a time for everything, maybe today's not yours yet so pray for her purely.remember she's your friend and I think you're good friends who's there through thick and thin
I already prayed for her. And I confessed my jealousy to God last night, asked for forgiveness😅
thats good to hear..everyone commits a mistake, good thing you were encouraged in here to what yoi need to do.thats being honest of you,we admire you for that,Godbless you also at the right time
Thank you so much ☺️
I find it sad she asks you to pray for a better job. You do not pray for things like that but work for it. It's not asking Santa Claus for a gift. What makes me wonder and sad too is your friend is clearly not a friend and doesn't know anything about your situation. The luxury position she has. I would say talk to her and tell her. There's nothing wrong about honesty and I call it hypocrisy to pray if you don't mean it. If it comes to jealousy... use this feeling to achieve something satisfying for you! You are not a bad friend or person just honest and human and it takes courage to admit how you feel and even publish it. 👍💕🍀
Wow. Perfect words I need to hear. I'm aware that I have my own path in life because everyone does. But yeah, maybe I should tell her what I really feel because it's bottling up. To be honest, I can't feel the comfort I need. She doesn't check up on me like I always do or maybe I'm just expecting something in return. 🤷
I think you are battling with your feeling not your thought, because God would look at us from the mirror of our hearts. In that sense, you should train your feeling(heart) to combat with envy and ask God to forgive. With regards to your friend, just declare a blessings to her. Who knows she can also help you in the future. I know you also have your own path build and created by God. He design it perfectly. Don't be jealous. All is WELL
Maybe you're right. It is a battle of a feeling and not my thoughts. My initial feeling when I learned about her job application is jealousy then I realized that there's no need to feel that way because God created my own path. Thank you for sharing your thoughts ☺️
Sure you are my friend here. So, we have to stay strong, especially this hard times. Your not a bad friend, you are just being a human. God bless you.
Thank you for this reassurance. Really, I appreciate it. I doubt myself of being a friend to her. I need a validation if it is. ☺️
If she gets a good job she might be able to check for vacancies in her company and try to make sure you get a job too. A good friend would always put you on to opportunities they find, when they are successful they always want all their friends to be successful too, I think that's how true friendship works. Some friends are like family so if you want your family to be successful why not your friend. I don't think you're a bad person, now you know its bad to feel that way towards your friend or anybody else, It's up to you to work on how to change the way you feel in situations like this. Also, I don't think you're really friends, maybe just acquaintances.
Whenever she has problems or something she celebrates, she shares to me all the time. I'm always there for her to listen. Maybe because I don't really share my thoughts with her that much that's why she doesn't know what I truly feel. With regards to the job, I don't have the credentials yet so it's hard for me to get a job there since it's a department of the government.
You need to open up to her and tell her how you really feel, it shouldn't be onesided, she should also listen and understand your situation. I'm sure if you talk to her about it, it would make your friendship better. I understand about the job but also think positively ♥️😘
Well, that's the problem actually. I don't feel comfortable sharing my personal feelings with her. Because I have my reservations and we have different personalities? I'm okay with this type of friendship though, I can be her listener and adviser all the time. There's someone I'm most comfortable with. I can be myself. We're friends since kindergarten. We're both introverts and Cancer 😂
