My recent article was about the 7 Wonders of The Ancient World. I have promised to make an article about the Natural Wonders of the World.
These are identified as Natural Wonders because of their sizes (largest or smallest), length, height, and peculiar features.
Here are the Natural Wonders of The World:
1.Longest Cave System
Mammoth-Flint Ridge Cave System - Kentucky, USA
The Mammoth-Flint Ridge Cave System stretches about 640 kilometers (400 miles) beneath the U.S. state of Kentucky. Simply known as Mammoth Cave, it is by far the longest explored cave system in the world.
Between 1972 and 1983, connections were discovered between the Flint Ridge, Mammoth, and Roppel cave systems, making them by far the longest continuous cave system in the world; at least 400 miles (650 km) of passages have been mapped.
I would love to just take a peek of what's inside but I wouldn't take a risk of exploring it more because I'm claustrophobic and I get panic attacks whenever I'm in an enclosed area.
Can I just express how wonderful this cave is I mean, 640 km long takes 13 hrs of travel from Davao to Zamboanga City π²
2.Largest Lake
The world's largest lake is the Caspian Sea, at about 140,000 square miles. The coastlines of the Caspian are shared by Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkmenistan.
Why is it called a sea and not a lake?
The Caspian Sea is the world's largest inland sea. It is called a sea and not a lake because when the Ancient Romans arrived there, they discovered that the water was salty (about a third as salty as regular seawater); they named the sea after the Caspian tribe that lived there.
3. Highest Waterfall
The world's highest waterfall is 3,212-foot-high, Angel Falls. It is located in Canaima National Park, Venezuela.
It is the world's highest uninterrupted waterfall, with a height of 979 meters and a plunge of 807 m. The waterfall drops over the edge of the AuyΓ‘n-tepui mountain in the Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Gran Sabana region of BolΓvar State.
I want to witness the Northern lights in Ireland or Iceland (high latitude regions in Europe) or better known as Aurora lights, but I'm gonna add this on my list and wanna see this waterfall in my eyes how high and wonderful it is π².
4.Largest Gulf
The Gulf of Mexico, bordered by the United States, Mexico, and the island nation of Cuba, is the worldβs largest gulf. It has a coastline of about 5,000 kilometers (3,100 miles) and covers about 590,000mΒ².
A body of water is considered as Gulf when it is almost enclosed by land. So, it's like a lake but with an open mouth.
5.Lowest point on Earth
The deepest part of the ocean is called the Challenger Deep and is located beneath the western Pacific Ocean in the southern end of the Mariana Trench, which runs several hundred kilometers southwest of the U.S. territorial island of Guam. Challenger Deep is approximately 35,994 feet deep.
50 years from now, scientists predict that Manila will be wiped out. God forbid π€π¬
6.Longest river
The Nile River, stretching through northeast Africa, is the longest in the world at 6,670 kilometers (4,130miles).
I was in disbelief when I found out that the Nile River is 6 times longer than the entire country Philippines π± well, it crosses 10 countries before it reaches the Mediterranean Sea so that explains how long it is.
7.Largest river
The world's largest -Amazon River discharges about 209,000 cubic meters (7,380,765 cubic feet) of water every second. Discharge measures a river's flow through a certain area. Scientists measure the Amazon's discharge as it empties into the Atlantic Ocean.
The Amazon River in South America is the largest river by discharge volume of water in the world, and the disputed longest river in the world.
8.Deepest river
The Congo River reaches depths of 220 meters (720 feet) in its lower course - more than 50 meters (164 feet) deeper than the next-deepest, the Yangtze - as it descends from the highlands and nears its mouth on the Atlantic Ocean.
9.Largest coral reef
The Great Barrier Reef, off the south coast of Australia, is the largest coral reef in the world. It stretches for 1,600 miles (2600km) and covers over 133,000 square miles of the ocean floor and is composed of 2,900 individual reefs.
Geologists who have extracted samples from deep within the reef have been dated at 500,000 years old. The Great Barrier Reef is so big it can be seen from outer space and is the largest structure in the world built by living organisms.
10.Largest flower
The flower with the world's largest bloom is the Rafflesia arnoldii. This rare flower is found in the rainforests of Indonesia. It can grow to be 3 feet across and weigh up to 15 pounds.
This flower can also be found in the Philippines at Culasi, Antique.
11.Smallest fish in the world
PAEDOCYPRIS PROGENETICA
Paedocypris progenetica is a tiny species of cyprinid fish endemic to the Indonesian islands of Sumatra and Bintan where it is found in peat swamps and blackwater streams. Its size is just less than a centimeter long.

"Nile River is 6 times longer than the entire country Philippines" i was also surprised to learn this info. But the falls! Just by looking at it i feel something, i am scared of its height and the white color of the waterfalls no matter how i admire the view.
