The Kite Runner made its remarkable bloom on 2003 written by Khaled Hosseini. Khaled Hosseini is an Afghan-American author and physician.
The story circulates between the childhood friendship of Amir and Hassan. Its setting is based on pre-war Aghanistan to modern day US.
Hosseini is excellent in his descriptions as it makes you feel like it's real and you're in the situation itself.
However, this novel was banned in US (high schools) for a time because of its sexual explicit content, offensive language and violence.
I must say, this is a masterpiece as it talks about racial injustice, friendship, loyalty, betrayal, guilt, regret and redemption.
Notable dialogues of the book:
"For you, a thousand times"-Hassan
"There is a way to be good again" - Rahim
"There is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft... When you kill a man, you steal a life. You steal his wife's right to a husband, rob his children of a father. When you tell a lie, you steal someone's right to the truth. When you cheat, you steal the right to fairness" - Baba/Amir's father
