If you guys are a fan of Romantic comedy films, then I highly suggest you watch Blended.
It is about Jim and Lauren who find themselves together with their respective children to be stranded in a resort in Africa. These two had a history of meeting each other as blind dates but it didn't go well. Things occur, and the two soon start to develop feelings for each other.
The setting was so nice flaunting the beauty of Africa. It was so fun watching and it makes you feel wanting to go there too someday.
I believe this is the reunion movie of Adam Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore after their hit, classic movie 50 First Dates. That's another movie you should add to your list when you want a Romantic film.
Movie Summary
Blended is an American Romantic Comedy (Rom-Com) film produced by Warner Bros. and directed by Frank Coraci.
The movie starts when Lauren Reynolds, a divorcee goes on a blind date with Jim Friedman, who is a widower at Hooters. However, things went badly and they both shared their experiences with their friend and co-worker.
Lauren and Jim encountered each other again at the pharmacy where they buy pieces of stuff for their kids. Unknowingly, the cashier switched their credit cards so Jim goes to Lauren's house to return hers and take his credit card back.
Jen, Lauren's friend broke up with Deck, Jim's boss but they already booked a trip to Africa. Lauren agreed to take Jen's privilege without her knowledge of Jim taking Deck's too. The setup is actually for a romantic suite so they don't know how things would go when they arrive.
So then, the families are put together as a blended familymoon, where they are joined with other couples too. They cross paths with a couple where Jim is familiar with, Eddy and Ginger. The couple is with Jake, Eddy's son whom Hilary, eldest daughter of Lauren developed a crush on him.
The families make an awkward impression and notice each difference but soon meet halfway to compromise.
Jim bonds with the guys and Lauren bonds with the girls too. The kids got closer with Jim and Lauren, and these two also become warm for each other.
Jim realizes he develops his feelings for Lauren when she sings Somewhere Over The Rainbow for her daughter to sleep.
Lou, Jim's daughter asked Lauren to sing that song by which that song is used to sing by her mom when she was still alive.
On their last night of the free trip, Jim made a romantic dinner for Lauren. He is certain to confess his feelings. Lauren wears a black dress which made her more beautiful and elegant.
The conversation went well talking about parenting and how they were as kids until their eyes meet and start to kiss. However, Jim pulls away saying he can't do it.
The families went home separately, going back to America, and reality kicks in when Jim realizes that he has fallen in love with Lauren as he confesses it to his children.
Espn, the 2nd daughter of Jim us not yet ready to let go of her memories from her mom but admits that she also doesn't want to lose Lauren as part of their family.
Jim drives all the way to Lauren's house to make up with her but he finds out that Mark, Lauren's ex-husband is there. Tyler is excited to meet Jim and wants to play baseball but Mark interrupts and encouraged Jim to go home.
When Lauren gets home, Mark attempts to win her back again but Lauren refuses because of his failures as a father, having an affair with another woman. So she ditched him out once again.
Tyler has a baseball game so Lauren and his elder brother are there to support him. Tyler is missing Jim as he was his coach when he is learning the basics and techniques.
The game started while Tyler is unable to focus himself. After a while, Jim and his daughters arrive to cheer Tyler up and remind him again about what he taught during the trip in Africa.
Tyler regains his confidence and was able to get a home run. After the game, Lauren and Jim find each other, and as soon as their eyes met and got away with the screen making them apart, they kissed and realized that they are now a blended family.
