Noise is a technical term for all forms of obstacles which conspire to reduce the amount of information that is sent between those who are communicating

Types of noise

Physical Noise

These are environmental noise which may include loud sounds from radio sets, markets in full session, traffic, or children playing

Psychological Noise

These are noise produced by the brain, that is irrelevant thinking

Linguistic Noise

This is caused by the sender. That is when the sender uses a tone or language that the receiver does not understand clearly

Linguistic noise can be phonological, syntactic or sematic

Physiological Noise

This includes effects of poor hearing, stammering or stuttering, effects of medication, eye defects or other mental or emotional disabilities
