money actually buys happiness idc

Nah money don’t cure depression, cure suicidal thoughts, cure cancer bring dead love ones back none of that so no it don’t buy happiness.

it only buys materialistic things that you’re only happy about for so long until you need another.

But it can buy the things that bring you joy and happiness, id rather have a shit ton of money to do the things i enjoy than struggle and be stressed abt everything.

money buys freedom which leads us to be able to do things we enjoy, which brings happiness. Money buys freedom, not happiness.

There's something called a hedonic treadmill. You'll be happy but you're gonna keep searching for it once you get what want. A neverending cycle of temporary happiness.

It buys that superficial happiness that is ok if that’s the level you wish to peak and succeed at. Kids/Love that’s invaluable (can’t be purchased, and if it is it’s doomed from the beginning) but you feel that later in life.

I'm so convinced the whole "money doesn't buy happiness" was just a lie told so people are tricked into being complacent w/ working their lives away and keeping rich people rich.

Appreciate the opinion. Add on. Money can also buy unhappiness. Given all these ideas are more meta than physical x most constructs are catalyst. Emotions are fleeting and retail therapy is real af. Yet two things are true, some shit requires more give and take.

People saying money buys fake happiness clearly have never been poor. Y’all money would take away so much stress and anxiety in my life. The first thing I knew about money was that we didn’t have enough of it.

I think "money can't buy happiness" is meant more to call out the fact that mental illness is always a huge issue, no matter what the persons financial status is. Being surrounded by materialism doesn't automatically cure illness.

I slightly agree It temporarily buys happiness in the beginning, but after you’ve had it for years, the value will go down and it won’t mean much anymore, you’ll eventually want more then that.
