Christ the Redeemer, a 130-foot-tall statue of Jesus Christ, is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Jesus stood on the top of the hill and spread his arms. The distance from one hand to the other is 92 feet. Its total weight is 635 metric tons. The giant statue stands after being made of concrete and white stone separately and attached to the top of the hill. Its sculptor was Paul Landowski of France. The statue weighs 635 metric tons. The cost is 2 lakh 50 thousand US dollars. It was inaugurated on 11 October 1931 after 9 years of construction work.
The statue stands tall on the top of Mount Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro's Tizuka National Park. Christ the Redeemer is Brazil's historic national heritage.
