American culture, traditions and customs
American culture refers to the customs and traditions of the United States. Christina de Rossi, an anthropologist at Barnett and Southgate College in London, said: "How we sit at the table, how we greet guests, how we treat people we love, and millions more."
The United States is the third largest state in the world. Its population is about 325 million. A new baby is born there every 6 seconds. And one person dies every 12 seconds.
The majority of the U.S. population is immigrant. Even now, one new immigrant enters the United States every 33 seconds.
And that's why the United States is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. The culture of almost every region of the world has influenced the culture of the United States. However, the English have influenced the culture of the United States the most. Those who have been building colonies there since 1800 AD. Indigenous peoples (Red Indians), Latin Americans, Africans and Asians have also influenced American culture. Today, American culture is influencing the world in the same way that cultures in many parts of the world have influenced American culture.
The term "Western culture" often refers to the culture of the United States and Europe. But the way people from different cultures have come to the United States is a little different. For example, the Spanish-speaking Catholic community in the United States may be following their language and cultural family traditions, but they have become integrated into the urban population and have become accustomed to the American way of life. The northeastern, southern, midwestern, southeastern, and western regions of the United States have very different traditions and customs.
Language The United States has no official language or state language declared by the United States government. The country is inhabited by almost all the language speaking people of the world. And everyone speaks their own language. In addition to English, the most widely spoken languages are Spanish, Chinese, French and German. However, 90% of people in the United States understand at least some English, and most office work is done in English. For example, English and Hawaiian are the official languages in the state of Hawaii.
