See reason you should stop charging your phone to 100%

Ever notice after a year or two of scrolling through your spiffy smartphone that its battery doesn’t seem to last as long? Like, maybe one charge used to get you through the day, but now you’re in the red by noon? Yeah, Me too.

If you’ve never given much thought to charging your phone, then it’s time to start doing so. It’s never a good idea to completely drain your phone’s battery day after day. Your phone uses a lithium-ion battery, which has a finite number of times that it can be recharged.

For years, it's been said that letting your phone charge all the way to 100% will result in the battery degrading faster compared to unplugging once it reaches 80% or so.

Some research shows that after 80 percent, your charger must hold your battery at a constant high voltage to get to 100 percent, and this constant voltage does the most damage.

By the way, don’t let your phone lose its battery completely before you charge it. Just wait till it gets below that 30% line. If you plug in your phone every time it gets a little below 100%, eventually, it will have a hard time recharging.

I'd typically do a limit of 40% to 80% when I charge my phone.

Where you copy pasted this from I have no idea, sad though.
