Let's talk about the Gopher system dears friends....The Gopher system provides an easy to use standardized user interface for finding and retrieving files of all kinds from all over the world . A basic features of Gopher is that every Gopher season starts with a menu for which files , service , internet tools ,or other menus can be chosen. Some of the menu choices are n the top menu leads to other menus ,which lead to submenus , which can lead to more submenus and so on.this huge linked system of menus providing links to service and files is often called gopherspace . Gopher is based on what is called a client/server system. That is client software running on many machines interacts with a smaller number of remote computers and a dial up internet access provider , you will just need your normal telecommunication software .the Gopher client software is installed on your internet access provider machine for all of it's customers to use . Why the name Gopher ?
