Information and Communication Technology is the reason why there have been big changes in the education system and along with it we also need to adopt these rapid changes brought by the ICT, with the advent of this there were so-called NEW LITERACIES
What is new literacy in Education?

This is the knowledge that arises and should be possessed by those in the 21st century especially teachers and learners, where the method of teaching is with the use of the digital platform.

It is very relevant in education especially when it was used and effectively integrate into the classroom.
It requires a new set of skills which is one of the goals of 21st-century education
There are already a lot of ways on how to teach students with different capabilities, skills, and talents
We can rely easily on different digital tools on sending our announcements
Problem
The problem that arises here is that there is a gap between students and teachers, not everyone knows how to use digital teaching tools so lessons are not delivered and taught very well. And here comes digital literacy where one of the aims of 21st-century skills, both teachers and learners need to be literate in the use of digital tools.
But how are we going to do it, the government should makes effort to train their respective teachers with the use of emerging trends in education. Put up funds on the development of Information and Communication Technology in every public school so that every learner will also be trained with the use of ICT.
Is this very timely?
Most probably, in which we are in the new normal set up. Where everyone is new to us, and the means of teaching and learning is relying on the different digital tools.
EXPERIENCE
I experienced on the first day of class I didn’t know how to use google meet how to turn on the microphone and camera. I am struggling also to answer all the activities in google classroom and how I am going to navigate the zoom application and many more platforms that are relevant and being used in the online education setup
Some scholars believed that when the teacher effectively integrates the digital tool or platform he/she will be using there will be a highest form of learning that the student will acquire.
But…
Are we ready for this kind of setup? where internet connection is intermittent and some don't have gadgets to use for their online class.
