DOCTOR'S NOTES
"BoyBand Love"
So BBL Ep. 6 dropped tonight, and boy was it the episode you have been waiting for for the series. In a series that has a simple and seemingly (akala mo lang yun) obvious plot at the onset, this episode highlights how deep and all-encompassing the series can be.
It starts off where Ep. 5 left off, the all too-expected awkwardness of that dinner scene, leading to an off-site drinking sesh (that reminds me of my 20s) which revealed that the AidenCharm and DannyBench connections were more fragile than it seems.
While it may seem that the Madam Curacha sequence was a bit overplayed (I thought it was TBH), I felt it was a needed arc to cross to the Aiden and parents sequence which I feel has a bearing for the season ender (watch out Ep. 8). The MomDada moment of Danny was so endearing that I could barely contain myself (I feel we need more lesbian representation in romance serieses), while the CharmDanny sequence was a bit unexpected but ruefully effective.
As the episode wrapped up to the eventual climax, the episode showed that it was the time for Aiden and Danny to finally have an actual recognition of their feelings. I just feel that the next episode would give us the confusion the characters felt and the difficulties of dealing with the repercussions of what happened in the end. I really want more moments with the side couples though.
The technical aspects were better than some of rhe earlier episodes. The score was quite effective, the script quite well-done (save for some moments of WTH was that), with the cinematography improving here.
MY VERDICT:
This is a MUST WATCH episode!
