Diplodocus (long-tailed herbivore)
Diplodocus is the largest dinosaur fossil ever found. They roamed the earth 150 million years ago at the end of the Jurassic period. Habitat was in the western part of North America. They are mainly known for their strangely long and large tails. They were mainly herbivores.
The first fossil of Diplodocus was found in 18 Rocky Mountains near Canon City. The fossil was found by Earl Douglas and Samuel Elliston. They are named Diplodocus by Othniel C. Marsh. It is also from all the Greek words, Diplodocus means ‘Double Beam’ or ‘Double Beam’ (this bead is a wooden beam, a bead does not mean money).
