Haazrat umer was the second caliph of islam.he was born at Makkah in a noble tribe called the Quraish. He received the title of Farooq after he embraced Islam. He was the one of the very few person in Makkah who could read and write.he was a tall Strong and brave man. He was also a good wrestler, horse-rider and swordsman. Business was his occupation. Haazrat umer conversion to Islam was of a great value to the Rasool in his mission of Islam. Afterwards he remained very close to the Rasool Muhammad.

Haazrat umer remained caliph of islam for 11 years. He conquered a vast empire during the 11 years of his khilafat. He introduced the great system of administration which served as a model for the islamic word. He introduced many reforms during his reign such as administrative court to investigate the complaints against the officers of the state. He also reformed army, police force and tax system.

Haazrat umer give grate importance to justice and well being of the people. He was very strict in the case of judgement. He would not spare anyone,not even his own son,if wrong was committed by him. For him high and low rich and poor, were all equal before law.he follow the saying of the Rasool Muhammad "Treat your server as you would treat yourself,master and servant are both equal before Allah."

Haazrat umer was kind and sympathetic to the poor . He spent many sleepless night roaming in the streets to see the condition of his people.

One day while, Haazrat umer was saying his namaz in the mosque,a man named feroze killed the caliph with a knife. Haazrat umer lies buried near Haazrat Muhammad and Haazrat Abu Bakr in Madina. may his soul rest in peace Ameen!!
