Communal harmony in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. Hindus, Buddhists and Christians live side by side with the majority Muslims in this country. It is our pride that we are a secular nation. We are a Bengali nation, Bangladeshis are very consciously bound in brotherhood with people of different religions and communities. Harmony, friendship and cooperation are our ideals. Mutual trust and confidence is our religion. In 52, 69, 70, 71 the Bengali nation has left its signature of non-communal consciousness. Their communal harmony and unity have been perpetuated. Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Khasias, Santals all fought together in the war of liberation. In each of our festivals, the Bengali nation becomes one. On the first day of Boishakh, Eid, Puja, Christmas, Buddhapurnima, Vaisabi and national days, everyone participates equally as a nation forgetting communal identity. But even in this harmony, communalism has sometimes hurt this country because of some bigoted people. The demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, India in the '90s has caused riots in this country as well. Besides, some untoward incidents have also taken place in the aftermath of various national elections. But even after that, we are known as a non-communal nation in the world.
Communal harmony in the world
Peace and order in one country or war affects another. As a result, communal harmony is needed to maintain world peace. But at present the world situation is very fragile. Hana-hani, fights are going on everywhere. Even in a large democracy like India, minorities are suffering from insecurity. The Muzaffarnagar riots are proof of that. The Jews that Hitler killed in World War II are now fighting to destroy the Palestinian Muslims. Violence in the name of communalism is going on in many countries of the Middle East and Africa. Shia-Sunni sectarian clashes erupted in Iraq and Iran. Muslims in Muslim-majority provinces in China have been victims of sectarianism. In a country like the United States, the gap between black and white has not yet closed. Everyone knows racism in Africa. As a result, communal harmony in the world is now in a very tense situation.
Things to do to protect communal harmony
In order to establish peace in the national and international arena, communal harmony must be protected. We have to strengthen the bonds of harmony among all by trivializing racial, ethnic and religious divisions. We have to extend the hand of cooperation and sympathy to all, we have to create trust and confidence in each other. The state and society must ensure equal opportunities for all. An environment must be created so that minorities can participate in everything safely, without hesitation. We have to develop non-communal consciousness in everyone. The government, the political parties and the state system must be in favor of the minorities. We have to give up bigotry and be respectful of people, other religions, communities. One has to believe that killing innocent people of other religions is not called 'jihad' or 'crusade'. And only then will communal harmony be established at the national and international level.
"There is one nation in the whole world, the name of that nation is the human race" It is not possible for any human being to be communal if he believes in the words of the poet. Communal harmony teaches people to be respectful of others. The attitude is generous. Teaches people to believe in unity. Just as it strengthens one's faith in one's own religion, it also creates the feeling that one cannot harbor hatred towards the religion of others. Despite the existence of many communities due to communal harmony, different nations emerged as powerful nations.
