The nature of Bengal is constantly evoked by the chirping of birds of different species and colors. The birds of this country have been captivating the people of Bangladesh for ages with their melodious voice. The bird greeted the first watch of the day with its sweet voice before the sun signaled its arrival in the sky. Waking up to the chirping of birds is a daily occurrence in the life of the people of Bangladesh.

Bird-diversity of Bangladesh

All the diverse birds of Bangladesh have added a different beauty to the natural greenery of nature. There are regular anagona of different birds all over the country. About 550 species of birds are found in Bangladesh. Of these, about 400 species of birds live permanently in this country. The rest come from other parts of the world as guests at a certain time to entertain the nature and give the people of Bangladesh indescribable joy. In the paths of Bangladesh, in the deserts, in the forests, in the courtyards, in the trees, in the canals and beels, there are equal walks of birds everywhere.

*The following is a brief description of the different species of birds in Bangladesh:

Doyle, the national bird

Doyle is the national bird of Bangladesh with its beautiful and sweet voice. The appearance of the doyel is not seen in any other bird. Its beauty is mixed with the nature of Bangladesh. Being a national bird, this bird has a proud migration in the history and tradition of Bangladesh. Doyel birds can be seen around us throughout the year. They usually graze on the grass in the open space of the garden or yard. Doyle survives by eating scattered grains and small insects.

Domesticated birds

People of Bangladesh are naturally bird lovers. Many keep different species of birds in their homes or gardens. Birds that are kept at home are called domesticated birds. The name of the pigeon is especially significant among the domesticated birds in Bangladesh. Most of the bird lovers in Bangladesh keep pigeons at home. Among the domesticated birds there are also species of birds like Chad-e, Pigeon, Bulbul, Tia, Moyna etc.

Birds of prey

Birds that prey on other small animals and eat them are called birds of prey. There are many types of birds in Bangladesh. They feed on relatively weak and readily available animals and insects. Among them, the names of birds like kite, hawk, eagle, mashranga, owl, kora etc. are notable.

Singing birds

Cuckoos are mainly known as singing birds in Bangladesh. Kuhukuhu sound in his sweet voice sounds like a melodious song in the ears of the people. The cuckoo is called the messenger of spring. Because the melody of the season makes spring more enchanting. The people of Bangladesh get the message of the arrival of spring when they hear the call of the singing bird cuckoo. Shyama birds are also known as song birds. Among these singing birds there are also bulbul birds.

Aquatic Birds

In addition to the trees and plants of Bangladesh, there are innumerable birds walking in canals, beels and rivers. They are called aquatic birds because they usually roam in the water. They survive by eating insects, small fish and food particles in the water. Ducks are one of the aquatic birds. Besides, birds like Pankauri, Buck, Balihans, Dhanesh, Gang-Shalik, Kadakhoncha, Gangchil etc. always graze in the water.
