SPEECH THERAPY
The Speech Therapy service has professionals who deal with communication disorders, treating patients from school age to adulthood.
We have multidisciplinary care between the areas of pediatrics, neurology, otorhinolaryngology, medical clinic, psychiatry, among others.
The service is divided into listening and language areas.
HEARING AREA
We have a Ladie Audiometer and soundproofed cabins.
We perform:
Tonal Audiometries (through this evaluation the level of hearing is determined)
Speech audiometry (the discrimination of spoken language is evaluated)
Tinnitus It is performed in those patients who suffer from tinnitus or tinnitus (buzzing or other noise in the ears), determining the level and frequency at which it occurs.
We have the Prosthetic Equipment Service : In it, we select hearing aids , choosing the appropriate model for each patient according to their individual characteristics. In addition, calibration and adaptation sessions are offered.
LANGUAGE AREA:
They are carried out:
Language evaluations, in its expressive and comprehensive aspects, through
Phonemic Sweeps , Language Articulation Test , and some other specific tests that allow determining the language pathology and providing elements for its subsequent treatment.
SOME OF THE PATHOLOGIES THAT WE WORK ON:
* Presbycusis ”: This is hearing loss in patients over 60 years of age, for which the patient states that he is listening but does not understand.
* Otosclerosis ”: It is a primary bone metabolic disease, it generates fixation of the ossicles and as a result hearing loss (decreased hearing). It is genetically transmitted.SPEECH THERAPY
