HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, DIABETES AND LIPIDS
The Metabolic Unit is a pioneer in the study and early diagnosis of different factors of cardiovascular health. For this, it has different evaluation plans that include a series of studies that can be carried out in a single morning, sequentially, thus avoiding transfers, waiting and wasting time and speeding up diagnosis times. From a medical point of view, it allows all evaluations to be carried out under the same general conditions (hydration, mood, etc.).
The evaluations are aimed at patients with a family history of cardiovascular disease or who already have a risk factor for this type of disease or its presence is suspected, in order to indicate in time the necessary treatments that prevent or attenuate the progression of the disease. disease towards more serious states.
Between 60 and 80% of adults with cardiovascular disease have metabolic syndrome, a sum of risk factors such as high blood pressure, metabolic disorders of carbohydrates (glucose) and hyperlipidemia or high levels of cholesterol or triglycerides. The study and comprehensive management of these factors is extremely beneficial for these patients.
All evaluations are performed by the Hospital Day Service.
PROFESSIONAL STAFF
The professionals of the service are specialists in arterial hypertension, diabetes and lipids and several of them received training in the United States, Italy, Spain and France. The team works in an interdisciplinary way with nephrologists, cardiologists, pharmacologists, bioengineers, as well as technicians and nurses with experience in the area.
EPIDEMIOLOGY
AND INFECTOLOGY
High complexity medicine requires multiple measures to prevent infections and vast experience in solving clinical infectious problems. Therefore, the Favaloro Foundation has a service dedicated to the assistance, prevention and control of infections.
STAFF OF SPECIALISTS
The Epidemiology and Clinical Infectology team is made up of infectious disease doctors and specialized nurses, who visit the different areas of our institution on a daily basis. The group has extensive experience, especially in the infectological management of patients: transplanted patients, with cardiovascular disease, as well as patients with other types of infections.
The activities carried out by this Division include: the implementation of the Infection Prevention and Control Program and assistance activities.
