Winter is coming, a period when we consume more electricity than usual, and thus we get bigger bills. However, with the help of these tricks, your electricity bill will definitely be smaller
1. Plan
Whenever you can, cook meals in bulk, in two or three days. It is not the same electricity consumption if you turn on the stove every day or, say, once to twice a week.

2. Unplug

Do not leave devices waiting, but unplug them. For example, a TV consumes up to 24 percent of energy even though it is turned off. About six percent of the electricity in the household goes to stand-by devices.

3. Pay attention to temperature
Make sure that the refrigerator door is not open for a long time, because otherwise a lot of heat will enter inside. In that case, the device will have to lower the temperature again as usual, and for that it will draw an additional amount of electricity.

4. Refrigerate cold
Put the refrigerator in the coldest place in the house. Do not expose these devices to sunlight. Colder space means greater energy savings, because each degree reduces electricity consumption by up to six percent.

5. Connect the washing machine to hot water
If possible, connect the washing machine to the hot water supply, not cold water, because most of the electricity of the washing machine and dishwasher is used to heat the water.
6. Pay attention to the size of the dishes
Adjust the size of the bowl to the amount of food you are cooking. If you put a little food in an oversized container, you will spend too much energy.

7. Avoid stand-by mode
If possible, do not keep electrical devices in "stand-by" mode (usually a red light) as this consumes up to eight percent of electricity per year.

8. Turn off computers when not in use
Be sure to turn off the computer when you are not using it. If it has to stay on, then at least turn off the monitor, because the highest power consumption of the computer falls on that device.

9. Do not leave chargers on
Some chargers for mobile phones, cameras, computers ... continue to consume electricity even after you disconnect them from the device you are charging. So be sure to unplug them when not in use.

10. Take a short shower
Shorten the shower time to less than five minutes. Avoid bathing in the bath, because showering will consume half less electricity and water than bathing
