AFCON 2021: Constituency made Senegal win the trophy

The Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, is the biggest and most prestigious international association football championship in Africa. It is contested by the men’s national teams of the member associations of CAF, the sport’s continental governing body. The winner of the tournament is awarded the Cup of Nations trophy.

The 2021 edition was the 33rd AFCON tournament, and was hosted by Cameroon from 09th January to 06th February 2022. A total of 24 teams qualified to participate in the tournament. Senegal were crowned champions for the first Time in history.

After a long and grueling competition, Senegal has finally emerged as the champions of African football, by winning the Egyptians football team 4- 2 in penalty shoot out. This victory marks Senegal's first ever win of the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) and is sure to be celebrated by the nation for many years to come.

After being defeated by Algeria in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Senegalese national football team is more determined than ever to win the AFCON 2021. This would be their first victory since 2002.

The champions of African football are a force to be reckoned with and have some of the best players in the world, including Sadio Mane and Kalidou Koulibaly. They are sure to give their opponents a run for their money.

In addition to this momentous victory, Sadio Mane of Senegal also won the best player of the tournament, the host Cameron stipper Vincent Aboubakar won the golden Boot of the tournament and Senegalese and Chelsea f.c goal keeper Mendy won the best goalkeeper of the tournament. These awards are a testament to the skill and dedication of the players on the Senegal team, and they are sure to bring even more glory to their home country.
