This moist chocolate cake is one of my favourite cake types. It has a decadent flavour that is just "wow". You can't resist it once it finds its way into your mouth. It can be garnished with ice cream, whipped cream, buttercream and any other garnish of interest. This is my little gift to you in this new month of December.
The procedures for preparation is as follow;
Ingredients:
1. Flour- 3cups
2. Sugar- 3 cups
3. Eggs- 4
4. Buttermilk-1 & half cup
5. Hot Water - 1& half cup
6. Vegetable oil- 1/2cup
7. Baking soda- 1tbsp
8. Baking powder- 1 & half tsp
9. Salt-1tsp
10. Cocoa powder- 1 & 1/2cup
11. Vanilla flavour extract- as desired.
Procedure:
- Mix the eggs and sugar till light and fluffy.
- Seive all powder ingredients in a bowl except the cocoa powder.
- Add the cocoa powder to the hot water and mix properly.
- Add the buttermilk to the egg & sugar mixture, followed by the powder ingredients then the cocoa mix and flavour. Mix till well combined.
- Line your baking pan with margarine/butter/baking spray and baking sheet. Pour in the batter and bake in a preheated oven.
Substitute for 1 cup of buttermilk- 1 cup of milk + 1tbsp of white vinegar (leave to sit for about 10 mins before use).
NB:
Ensure that the flames in the oven are low/moderate to avoid cake burning. Do not open the oven until after about 30 mins from when the batter has been put in it.
To know when the cake is completely baked, dip a skewer stick or toothpick into the cake and once it comes out clean then your cake is ready to be devoured😋😋.
