One sailor took a monkey with him to get rid of the monotony of watching monkeys play occasionally while going on a long sea voyage. Their ship was wrecked after a severe storm off the coast of Greece. The sailor, his monkey, and all the people in the ship swam ashore to save their lives. A dolphin, who always loves to help people, came forward to save them. Thinking the monkey was a human, the dolphin came under the monkey and swam towards the shore on its back. As they approached the shores of Athens, the porpoise asked the rider on his back if he was a man from Athens. The monkey said that he was from Athens, not only that, he was born into one of the greatest families in Athens.
The dolphin asked him if he knew anything about pyrexia. Piraeus is the name of the famous port of Athens. The monkey thought that Piraeus was the name of a man. Continuing his earlier lie, he replied that he knew Piraeus well, even that the man was his close friend, and that he would, no doubt, be very happy to see him. In the monkey's deception, the dolphin became very angry and drowned him.
