Money definitely plays a major part in motivating people, as far as motivation factor is concern..that too in the work place. It is only the need for money that makes people work. If there is plenty and more than sufficient, anyone would hardly want to work. A guy was asked if he would do a job for free and this was his response….”Who would do a job for free? What idiot provides time and labour for free..joke of the freaking century”

Hello readers, it’s nice we are back here together again. What we will be discussing today is this; Is money the major motivating factor in the work place, this time I will be sharing people’s opinion on this topic. Some people believe money is the only motivating factor in the work place while others believe it’s not..Okay one here says;

Money is definitely a significant source of motivation, that’s why so many people face and compromise on so many negative things like rude behavior of bosses, pressure from bosses, undesired working conditions e.t.c. Because of good earnings, many employees compromise on work-life balance, try to achieve challenging goals, work for long hours and face many problems. Here’s another one;

It doesn’t even matter if money is a motivator or not, you cannot live without money… Even the president of a country or CEO of a company needs paycheck to handle their expenses. I’ve got more!!!!, one here says; Recognition and appreciation are the biggest motivators in the long run however, money is a great motivator in the short run..Okay another one;

Yes I would say so. When you are working from 8:00 AM-6:00PM, you don’t do it because you love it… I know some people may do it because they like it but that is one in a million. When we break it down further, working for someone for a long time won’t make us achieve our goal rather, we are helping the person work towards his or her own goal, so I would say money is the only motivator. Wow!!! These are really strong responses to this topic, I could say…I would say I know why people feel this way about money…Let me give a practical example, a Nigerian would definitely have no reason other than money to work for the government or an organization because of the condition of the country amongst other reasons… Without wasting time, let’s hear what the opposition party has to say;

Stability is more important more so if you have family responsibilities. Having a high paying job that will not last will not help you to take care of your responsibilities in the long run, other factors that are very important to people include purpose, benefits, socialization and happiness. In some cases , it depends on the type of job, some people are service oriented; Teachers, nurses, social workers amongst many others. For many out of these people, providing services to others is their highest calling.

So from all that has been said, I can conclude that money is not the only motivating factor in the work place but because of the situation we are in, prices of things fluctuating...a lot of people don’t care about other things that they can gain from their work place except for the money. But as the saying goes “Rather be broke with a good heart than be rich with bad intentions’. Thank you for reading this article, I hope to write more to help you get insights on a lot of things. BYE

everyone have got different motivation and the factor that drive it. For some it is money and other it is passion for what they do. In world of ours today, the importance of money makes everyone seeks it and the want for it have eroded any passion for the work that we do. But, that is not to say the work done with passion is much better to one done with money as the motivator. Professionalism is what determine the levels of quality of work we do.
