Doctor Strange 2 Brings More Cameos!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the sequel to Doctor Strange, which will be the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2022. The film itself will be directed by veteran director Sam Raimi, who previously worked on popular horror films as well as the first Spider-Man trilogy (2002-2007). In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch returning as Doctor Strange, the film will also star Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez.
The production process for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness actually started at the end of 2020, and was rumored to be finished in April 2021, with actress Elizabeth Olsen saying that the 28th MCU film would be the scariest film. However, last November, the film was rumored to be doing a "reshoot" for some additional scenes that will be quite influential in this film by Sam Raimi. Benedict Cumberbatch had said that the reshoot was intended to improve the quality of the Doctor Strange sequel film.
Recently, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the reshoot of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will feature more cameos and character introductions than originally planned. Although until now the character and cameo in question has not been revealed, The Hollywood Reporter added that the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness film will present a more enjoyable MCU Multiverse than before, given that the Spider-Man: No Way Home film has successfully presented various interesting Multiverse characters.
Some time ago, the latest line of action figures related to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness showed some interesting characters, such as Rintrah, the alien minotaur who made his debut in Marvel Comics as one of Doctor Strange's students, then there is also the "Defender Strange" action figure from Marvel Legends which indicates the presence of the third Strange variant after Strange Supreme. Strange Supreme himself previously appeared in the animated series What If ..? which aired some time ago.
Given the film's Multiverse MCU theme, it makes sense that the film will feature many interesting characters as well as surprising cameos.
