Some people define happiness as temporary state of emotions while some people are finding ways to become happy but the question is, is it hard to become happy and where do you seek and get happiness? From the things you have now? From achieving what you want? From reaching your goals and so on the list goes.
"A good life is a happy life."-Aristotle
They say happiness isn't something you feel, it is something. Do not chase happiness instead look for the deep meaning of it. Happiness is a positive state of emotion in our lives. Aristotle differentiate the two things, the flourishing and the happiness.
Flourishing
is living a virtous life where you pursue and achieve excellence from your work, from relationships and in the whole community. You might achieved those things but those things doesn't guaranteed you go be happy.
People are striving for the ideal of happiness in their lives. This causes great unhappiness around the when you strive to do for something, always put your mind and body a sense of positivity. Learn not to expect something in return after you did something great but of course knew the limitations of your kindness. Give and receive love without expectations or any reservations. And most of all do not forget the power of contentment.
You, yourself you have to be honest with this question, what are the things that makes you happy?
What really you very happy? Is it a new job? A new spouse? A new home? A new car? No matter what you fill in the blank with, the answer will always be no. Happiness is not about who you’re with or where you are or what you have. Can these add to your happiness? Yes they can. Can these things create your happiness? Never.
Happiness
is also about loving yourself and who you are. Accepting your flaws and imperfections. Know that you are an amazing person in this world and you are enough. Loving yourself is also a true sense of happiness in this world how could you love someone else and the other things when you haven't learned to loved yourself in the first place?
There are moments in our life where we felt such things like these, "I would be happy when I’ll buy a new car, new house, new shop, traveling the world, being with friends or family, winning a lottery, getting married, having children, playing, partying with friends, etc."
True happiness is happiness inside you. True happiness is enjoying your own company and living in peace and harmony with your body, mind and soul. True happiness is state of mind constantly being in love with yourself.
But sometimes in life we often confused things the way they are. We often confused happiness with a momentary state of pleasure of feeling joy. We look on the things we can see that gives us satisfaction and possessions. This might make you joy but this is not everlasting.
Let us immediately eliminate the word "pleasure" from the definition of true happiness. As we have seen, pleasure can never bring a long-lasting sense of happiness and it often brings suffering in its wake.
To become happy, eliminate the negative attitudes you are seeing. Learn to become positive as much as you can and it will give you a better outlook of the world around you. Reconnect with inner peace, compassion and wisdom by taking some time to meditation.
Although the term self-happiness is not used very often, “self-happiness” refers to a sense of happiness or satisfaction with one’s self. It is often associated with self-confidence, self-esteem, and other concepts that marry “the self” with feeling content and happy. In general, it means that you are pleased with yourself and your choices, and with the person that you are.
Remember you cannot pleased everyone so learn to embrace yourself and there is a strong relationship between mental health and happiness! When happy people are healthier, have better relationships, make friends more easily, and find more success in life, it give them contentment. It's easy to see why happiness and mental health are related.
