**The lost child 2/5
The parents' domain
Parents play a fundamental role in the process of a child's development. If a child still has problems in speaking and identifying objects correctly, then the parents have a serious problem in the areas they deal with their children.
These areas are above all formative, educational, affectionate and considerate of their environment.
The case of Damian in particular is a child who is 8 years old and according to the characteristics of the previous chapter still does not speak well and does not clearly identify most of the objects in his environment. In relation to this, strategies have to be used so that the parents can bring him into the real world.
The first strategy is for the parents to change their way of addressing Damien, especially by changing the scope of being more effective with the child, i.e. trying to understand him when trying to relate to him.
Damien's parents should look for games that involve language dynamics.
They can also try to spend a long time reading a story to Damien so that he can develop his auditory skills and begin to remember the sounds of the words in his memory so that when he speaks he remembers the words as he is supposed to say them.
Parents should also make time for Damien by applying this strategy that aims to make parents change their environment.
In the next section we can explain the patience that parents must have in this process of changing environments.
Considering that it is not easy to try to educate children when they present a disorder that they did not realise in time, it is possible to go step by step.
