Life, as it is, is full of ups and downs, bumps and bruises, twists and turns. We are often conditioned by society. That's why we are reminded constantly that we should not only be careful of what we hear and see, but rather we should also be careful of how we respond to the various things we hear and see.

The phrase "table can turn" is often used to describe a situation in which the tables have turned and the person who was once in a position of power or authority is now at a disadvantage. This phrase can also be used to describe a situation in which the person who was once the victim is now in a position of power.

There are a number of instances in which the table can turn in one's favor. A few examples are as follows:

-When the opponent makes a mistake: This can be a costly mistake or even a minor mistake that the other player can capitalize on.

-When the opponent is tired: If your opponent is tired, they may not be able to put up as strong of a fight as they normally would. This can be an opportunity to capitalize and win the match.

The table can turn in the play Macbeth when Lady Macbeth convinces her husband to kill Duncan so that she can be queen. She is able to turn him from a loyal subject into a murderer by using her feminine wiles and her powers of persuasion. Her influence over him is so great that she is even able to make him feel guilty about his actions, which eventually leads to his downfall.

A true story I'll like to relate here that corroborates this phrase: "TABLE CAN TURN" is related as follows:

A friend of mine(let's call him 'John') told me his story and I couldn't but marvel at how God works mysteriously.

It happened that John's dad had a friend whom he had a very close relationship with. At a point, John's dad took him to live with his friend's family in a different city for some reasons best known to him. John was still in primary school then. His dad's friend had two children, a boy, and a girl.

N.B: John's dad is a rich and influential man.

This family(both the parents and children) maltreated John. He was enrolled in a public school while their own children attended a private school. He was made to do all the house chores while their kids did none. All the while, John never complained to his parents. Whenever his parents come around, the family would pretend to be nice to him but when they leave, the suffering continued for John. Even their church members observed what was going on and would report to John's dad whenever he came around but he never made a fuss about it.

One day, the man and his wife were involved in a ghastly accident that claimed their lives. Well, the table had to turn. John's dad adopted the two children and took very good care of them, even better than his own children. He made sure that the adopted kids got the nicest gifts whenever he gets them gifts.

He sponsored their education till graduated from University and became independent.

Now, let's imagine that the late parents of those adopted kids were watching from beyond. How would they feel?

A feeling of regret, right?

My point is, to learn to treat people right irrespective of their status. Learn to do good always, it costs you nothing to be good.

What else did you learn?

Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks.
