We all have a different way of dealing with our shyness. Some of us try to avoid it and some of us confront it head on. But no matter how we deal with it, the one thing we all have in common is that it is something that will always be there.

Some people has had shyness from childhood and it stuck with them even in adulthood while some others experience shyness occasionally. The former was the case of my friend Christopher.

This is so relatable for real! Christopher, a friend of mine was once a very shy guy. He was so shy that he prefers to spend his 24 hours indoors. An extreme introvert. He find it difficult to talk to girls as well and these girls especially his classmates made mockery of him in the class, cafeteria or wherever they saw him.

Too much too bad for a shy person you may say. At some point he tried to overcome his shyness but each time he tried, he succumb to it and goes back to his former self.

He was so mad with this that it made him cry some times. Now, the major reason why he cries sometimes is because of the fact that he is gifted with many talents; singing, dancing, ventriloquism and fast learning but finds it difficult to express all these talents. At least these are the ones i know, there might be more talents he got deposited in him.

I once told him that his gifts have the ability to make him popular as a showman and inspire people through it since his talents revolves around showmanship. I went further to tell him that we don’t have forever in this world and that whatever thing we want to do, we should go out and do it regardless of the odds present. I cited one of the popular quotes by the late Dr. Myles Monroe to corroborate my statement. the quote states;

"The graveyard is the richest place on the surface of the earth because there you will see the books that were not published, ideas that were not harnessed, songs that were not sung and drama pieces that were never acted" – Myles Monroe

 He nodded in agreement but worry so much that his shyness had boxed him in in a somewhat irredeemable state. I felt for him greatly and tried to proffer solutions to his problem as a friend. I was indeed worried about his predicament.

One day, he got up from his bed, look at the mirror with intent as if he saw someone from the mirror looking back at him. He made a firm resolution that he was going to overcome his shyness once and for all. This time it will be absolute! He thought. The idea that popped up in his head by wearing sunglasses.

He told me about this idea. At first I found it funny but later gave him my blessings and I even purchased a brand new sunglasses for him. He broke down in tears, hugged and thanked me greatly. He was surprised that it worked and he felt like he was living free.

He overcame his shyness by wearing sunglasses and found the motivation to live his life against all odds. He is taking guitar and voice lessons now and is so focused on building his entertainment career. He told me that he can do without his sunglasses now but he just like wearing and says that it has become somewhat his signature. LOL!

He is an inspiration for those who are struggling with their shyness and want to live their life without regret. Are you a shy person? Perhaps you need to go and get your own sunglasses right away. Just So you know, Shyness deprives you of so many beautiful opportunities, Overcome Shyness Now!
