Do You Really Write?
You've probably gone through school, whether you stopped at basic school or high school, or college, it still remains that you have once held a pen to write something down on a sheet of paper.
The thing is, everybody writes, However, not everybody actually knows how to organize or articulate their thoughts.
The _sui generis_ of writing as art lies in your offline Authority; how far you can persuade your reader to read and digest your work.
In this post, I will unmask and discuss five (5) essential ingredients you need to sweeten the soup of your writing. I will also enumerate my invented idea of " WRITING NUCLEAR WEAPONS ".
These five Essentials has worked for me on different occasion and also make my work stand out.
Check them out!
1. Catchy Headlines/ Oddity
2. conversational method
3. A professional strategy invention.
4. A good Transition.
5. Call to Action
Shall we?
1. Catchy headline
If you want to catch the attention of your reader, always try to use an implicit Headline. Readers always want to know what the writer has say to when the Headline is not complete or comes in form of question, Exclamation, or any form of suspenseful Title.
How do you feel when you come across a post entitled -"She Couldn't Wait", "Then What Should I Do?", "Alas!", "You Should Have Told Me". Did you feel a part of you with inquisitiveness ?
Psychologically, every reader will be enthralled in your work, engaged, and want to explore your write-up.
The second concept of Headline is your oddity. if you are into blogging, you need a click-bait strategy, and this could be achieved with your oddity. What is new to your reader, not what they know will make them pull up to check your post.
you reader will surely see a difference between" Dog bit man" and "Man bit dog". The latter is surely news because of its bizarre nature and that's how you ensnared your audience by whetting their appetite.
2.Conversational method
"The grail of writing is conversation"
You write as if you are conversing with your readers .This make them to feel relaxed and always want to absorb your work. besides, it makes them be relating to your thought. Different researches have made it evident that the Emotional value of your write-up (E M V) has a greater influence on readers than other forms of rhetoric.
Write as if you are sitting by them and always want to reveal every ounce of the idea that comes to your mind.
This is exactly the reason people will always want to click on posts on accidents, Explosion, and others. Not because they are bad but because the reader will always emote such a situation.
3.Professional invention strategy
How do you add grandeur and ornament to your work?
Of course, as a writer, there are some ways you should be able to spice up your work and make it captivating to your reader. In the introduction, I mentioned " Writing nuclear weapons". You probably notice a difference in using "essentials of writing" which may seem tedious to my reader. Always look for creativity that will spice up your work.
4. A good Transition
Many writers have made their work boring to read because they lack transition. Yes! Whenever your reader's spirit is not gingered, they will be indifferent to read your work or even scroll down to the end and that's all.
Whenever you are moving from one point to another, always make sure you introduce a transition like "let's delve into these"," shall we ?"," You will definitely be shocked to know these things", and ''These are never revealed top secrets'' etc.
5.Call to action
This actually applies to making your reader comment, subscribe or take a definite action at the end of your work. I think this is a demanding process because once your reader is done with reading, they may not see a reason to comment despite the fact your work is awesome. You call them to action by asking them a question that they will feel compelled to answer in the comment section. Ask them if they ever faced a problem that relates to any of the following before or if there is any essential you missed that they should kindly drop them in the comment section. You simply ask them questions."
Which one do you think is the most important among these five "
Thanks for reading.
See y'all at the next one.
For blogging, I usually apply the conversation method and the call to action. I struggle with the catchy headlines though. I read once that your headline should be no more than five words ideally. I never manage that though. Usually my headings are an entire paragraph. hahahaha!
