There are a lot of myths about sleep. For example, many people believe that they can get by on just a few hours of sleep each night. However, this isn’t true. Research has shown that adults need at least seven hours of sleep each night to be healthy.

There are several reasons why many people have some difficulty sleeping at night. Some common causes of lack of sleep include:

• Stress or anxiety

• Physical pain

• Noise or light pollution

• Sleep disorders such as insomnia

• Uncomfortable sleeping conditions

Insomnia, also known as sleeplessness, is a sleep disorder in which a person has trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting restful sleep. People with insomnia may have one or more of the following symptoms: difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting restful sleep; daytime sleepiness; irritability, frustration, or anxiety; difficulty concentrating; and memory problems.

There are many causes of insomnia. Some are related to lifestyle choices, such as working the night shift or using electronic devices right before bed. Others are health-related, such as restless leg syndrome or anxiety disorders.

There are many things people can do to improve their sleep life. Some people may need to make slight changes to their daily routine, while others may need to make more significant changes. However, there are a few general things that everyone can do to improve their sleep life.

One of the most important things is to create a bedtime routine and stick to it. This could involve winding down for 30 minutes before bed, reading, or listening to calm music. It’s also important to avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed, as they can interfere with sleep. Another good idea is to keep a journal by your bedside (especially a lengthy one) to read at night. The truth is when you lie down, the brain first registers sleep, and the sleeping process is then accelerated when you pick up a text to read.

Don't make it a habit of working late at night at all times. A better way to do it is to rotate your night work. Night work actually throws our circadian system ( The system that helps in the regulation of sleep and wellbeing) out of order and you will consequently pay a huge price, if you always engage in chronic night work for a long period, especially as you grow older.

If you work from home, instead of starting by 11 pm and working until 3 am, go to sleep by 7-9 pm, wake up by 2:00 am and work till 6:00 am, then you can rest.

By that period, the body's restorative work had been done.

To get a home in a serene environment & calm environment isn't a stroll in the park but truly the totality of your health; your brain, your mind, and your looks will thank you immensely for it.

They will thank you because if your organs don't get enough sleep, you are going to have a skin filled with all kinds of annoying issues like dark colorations, frequent rashes, dark eye bags, pimples, and all their colleagues. They are just signaling you that your inside is out of rhythm.

So dear friend, before you sleep tonight, remember that, quality sleep is part of what makes life unique.

PEACE!

Thanks for reading.

See you at the next one..
