When they talk to you about madness, the name of Charles Manson surely comes to mind. You may not know him, but maybe you heard the name of Marilyn Manson, the popular Rock singer, who chose his stage name as Manson, thanks to this character.

Charles Manson was an American criminal, sectarian, and amateur musician. He never knew his father and his mother abandoned him in a convent when he was 9 years old. He ran away from the convent and was not admitted again. At age 13, he is arrested for an armed robbery at a grocery store. This was in the year 1947. At this time a series of prison breaks and arrests for armed robbery and vehicle theft begins. Until in 1960, having spent almost a good part of his life in prison, he formed the sect known as "The Manson Family".

All this happened in California, where he had a ranch destined to indoctrinate and carry out his recruitment of young people who joined him, seeing in him a kind of savior. His philosophy and way of seeing the world made many homeless young people join him. They started a cult and with drugs and sex, the days passed. It was not until 4 members of his sect, led by him, staged a series of murders, including that of actress Sharon Tate.

It was in November 1969 that Susan Atkins, while incarcerated for carjacking, bragged to another inmate that she had participated in the murder of Sharon Tate. I take her to be accused and then I comment on the other 4 perpetrators of the act. Besides that everything was the work of the "family" and Charles Manson.

These were Atkins' words at the trial:

“They didn't even look like people... I didn't associate Sharon Tate with anything more than a store mannequin... [Tate] sounded like an IBM machine... it begged and begged and begged and begged, and I got sick of hearing it, like this I stabbed her.”

Sharon Tate was 8 months pregnant when she was stabbed to death with 16 stab wounds, 5 of them alone, were fatal.

Manson was booked into Los Angeles County State Prison on April 22, 1971, on seven counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy, in the deaths of Abigail Ann Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Steven Earl Parent, Sharon Tate Polanski, Jay Sebring, Leno, and Rosemary LaBianca. He was sentenced to death. When the death penalty was declared unconstitutional in 1972, he was resentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. His original death sentence was modified to life in prison on February 2, 1977.

In 2012, a board denied Manson parole for the twelfth time, and, as the prison authorities announced at the time, he would not have another opportunity to request it until 2027. He did not have the possibility of reaching it, since he died on November 19, 2017, at 83 years due to colon cancer and cardiorespiratory arrest.

In his mind, he never believed that he should repent for something. According to him, he had done nothing wrong, and if he regretted anything, it would be not having killed more people. Apparently, we were all pigs to him: “Death to Pigs”.

- Tell me in a sentence Who are you?:

- "No one. I'm nobody. I am a bum, a drone, a pauper. And a razor blade if you get too close to me.” Charles Manson

There are crazy things that are poetry.

He looks scary my friend. 🥺 When I watched the video. It's my first time to hear this one. I think all those things happened to him because his parents abandoned him when he was still a 9 years old.
