Someone said: the happiest days are those that make us wise, a basic principle to achieve the noble title of Human Being. Without the accumulated wisdom we would certainly have the evolutionary childhood of the man (and woman) of the nomadic tribes.

Of course, it is already impossible, no matter how illiterate one may be, to be a strict caveman, but do not think that being surrounded by the inventions accumulated over the centuries is automatically very far from the quaternary: one can be a "Cro-Magnon" being even a sea ​​lion on the Internet. Having access to information is not enough: you can know a lot and think very little; Wisdom is the ability to process the external signals that are received in life and turn them into the compass of the spirit. Growing up is not directly proportional to the number of books, hours of television, or “multimedia” that have been digested; It is necessary that this food —within which there may be a lot of disposable substance— be assimilated by the body, discriminating the useless matter from the vital sap, so that the body is nourished by its essence and then feeds our fructifying knowledge.

You will be able to find around the world a professor of very bad taste, superficial, or, on the contrary, the most humble peasant, illiterate, who amazes with his philosophizing; you will confirm then that the nobility of the soul is not sold in stores. That simple farmer, with very little schooling behind him, has grown up dialoguing with nature, has drunk the wine of meditation, in his interaction with other beings, and has tempered his spirit with imagination. Of course, the more access to information media you have, the more possibilities you have to acquire culture; but don't be fooled by goldfish, because in our time there is a universal market for primitive nonsense that comes in cellophane with an art and modernity label.

Wisdom is beyond the accumulation of information; it is the ability to assimilate it, to process it, and an attitude of incessant search and critical sense are necessary to take advantage of that learning optimally.
