This is how the Texas Poker tournament was presented, for several days our friend @PVMihalache has been summoning us in his articles. The prize is high:
1st - 100 USDC delegated on PoolTogether + 1 Humble Tractor NFT
2nd - 50 USDC delegated on PoolTogether + 1 Hey! NFT
3rd - 25 USDC delegated on PoolTogether + 1 Hey! NFT
I eagerly downloaded the Governor of Poker game to reminisce about the old days of playing it. I start the tournament just at the scheduled time and I play at the same table as PVM. I started with a little over 1200 chips.
I lost my first hand. It wasn't the best, but I never touched the FOLD button. I just kept betting.
The second hand I won with a Pair. So my account was credited with +540 chips. I returned to recover from what was lost and a little more.
Already after two hands, PVM proposed an All In and I with my cards, which I considered good, followed him.
Well, it was the end of the tournament for me :(
User MightyStefan had a K and a Q on his cards, and when all 5 cards hit the board, luck was on his side, flushing out +7073 and leaving me in 16th place out of 25.
Continue watching the tournament and following what our friend @ThomasWolf was doing, who said from the beginning that he was going to win it. It was not easy for him, because MigthyStefan was more constant and much better at all times.
The moments of the All-In have arrived, which are seen so much and that makes the game not endless at times. If you have good cards, it is risking luck. Sometimes it goes well and other times not so much.
In this case, there were 3 left, and the 4th left with an All-In that did not work out for him, but the cards were not bad, only that luck did not favor him this time.
The final battle between Lj and MightyStefan after another All-In. They were both left with approximately 14,000 chips each, so it wasn't going to be easy.
It is a game of probability and strategy, it is playing cat and mouse, always knowing how to move your pieces in the best way. The final duel goes in favor of lj very quickly, becoming lj with 18,000 chips and MS with only 10,000 in a few hands. MS refuses to die and recovers slightly. It makes the duel more exciting, the prize is high and nobody wants to lose it.
On the next hand, everything changed and MightyStefan regained first place.
But a key moment arrived, an All-In that changed everything, and lj regained first place in a very violent way and that seemed to be the final blow.
So it was, there was no turning back and he ended up winning the last All-In with Two Pairs.
Congrats to lj and MightyStefan, and also to zCrit who finished in 3rd place.
I'm glad I participated and learned a bit. The Poker Now user interface is a delight. So it helps you a lot to play, especially for those like me who haven't played for years.
These events keep the spirit of the community alive and unite us all a little more despite the distance.
I hope I can play a better role in the next one.
Congratulations again to the winners and to PVM for being such a good host.
See you tomorrow!
