Jn17:14-16
INTRO.- Times are very tense, today. Much hatred is being spread. May God help us to love others as He wants us to do.
I- Love Everyone
Jesus prayed for His followers in this hostile world, and taught us to love everyone as He did (vs 14,.26)
II- Fight the Evil One (v14)
Too often we miss seeing the vicious work of the Devil --- and start fighting each other instead of fighting him.
III- Pray To the Perfect One
Jesus prayed to his 'holy Father (vs11,25). So must we pray interceded for others. AND, as we spend time with God, His love will fill our hearts.
CONCL.- An Older Pastor Had a Couple of Men Feuding In the Church – So One Day, the Pastor Called Them Both In – It Was Very Tense – One Man Told the Pastor to Say Whatever He Needed to Say – So He Could Get Back to His Business --- The Pastor Said, “I don’t have anything to say to either of you. But I do want to pray with you. First, I will pray, then I want each of you to pray.” – They reluctantly went along with it. But to their surprise, God Moved Into That Room / Melted Their Hearts / They Got Things Right w/Each Other --- One Man Wiped the Tears Away and asked, “What just happened?” --- The Pastor Said, “Brother, don’t you know, it’s Impossible to pray with another person In God’s presence and still be filled with bitterness for each other.”
