Albert Bandora (1977) is the leading theorist of self effaces theory who put forth
his social cognitive theory of motivation. Social learning theory suggests that the
achievements of the individuals is due to mainly three factors which are the cognitive,
behavioral and environmental events which put influence on the learning task of the
primary students. The cognitive factor is concerned with the individuals’ realization of
their own potential to achieve the task they have set by their learning. It influences on
an individual's feelings,thinking,motivation and attitudes.
Four factors determine self efface theory i.e. performance, accomplishments,
vicarious experience and verbal persuasion and emotional arousal (Bandura, 1997,
p.195).The performance accomplishment includes the experience of completing
resembled goals which an individual struggles to achieve. Vicarious experience entails
the observation of behavior other peoplewhich helps individual to form models of how
actions should be formed.Emotional arousal includes attribution, relation and anxiety.
For example, aman feeling stressed or anxiety may not behave in productive and
fruitful way.
