Mashrafe was born in the southwestern district of Narail in Bangladesh. From an early age, he preferred to play football and badminton instead of studying hard, and occasionally swam in the Chitra River. As a young man, he developed an interest in cricket, especially batting; However, he is now better known as a bowler, which is why he is also known as 'Narail Express'.

Everyone knows the bike-loving Mortuza as a very cheerful and generous man. He often rode his bike around the local bridge. He is very popular in his hometown. Here he is called "Prince of Hearts". Sumna Haque met Sumi while studying at the Government Victoria College in this city. The couple got married in 2006. They have two children.

He was admitted to Jahangirnagar University in Philosophy in 2003-2004.

★Captaincy Of Mashrafe:

In early 2009, Mashrafe was an assistant to captain Mohammad Ashraful. He succeeded Mohammad Ashraful in June of that year and was replaced by Shakib Al Hasan. But in his first match against the West Indies as captain, he left the field with a knee injury. Bangladesh won the match but Mashrafe was sidelined until February 2010 due to injury. Shakib Al Hasan later captained Bangladesh in that match. He was later re-captained in the home series against Zimbabwe in November 2014. He is also serving as the captain of Bangladesh in the 2015 World Cup. He stepped down as captain of the ODI team after the third ODI match against visiting Zimbabwe on March 7, 2020. The team leader took the lead in 6 ODIs and won 50 of them (winning rate: 56.6).
