Villains are Made, Not Born

Watching a movie with a villain that seems annoying and makes you want to say some rude things to them for doing such intense things to the protagonist is a form of revenge on their behalf. But on the other hand, I feel sad. Sad because they were being judged on what they were presently doing, not their past and side stories, which depicts the real reason why they have become as such.

Villains are made, not born.

That's what I believe. I always do. Well, if you have watched Maleficent already, somehow you will understand it even better. Just a little preview: Maleficent, the role played by Angelina Jolie, is a beautiful and pure-hearted young lady who lives in a woodland kingdom. Maleficent steps up to the plate to defend the land from an advancing force. A severe betrayal, on the other hand, begins to change her heart and turns her into a vengeful creature. It's sad on her behalf that she was betrayed, and for that reason, we can't blame her for turning into something we didn't initially expect her to be.

Who and what are the villains anyway?

Villains are created in the same way that heroes are.

There is no such thing as "evil." They believe what they think because of what they've experienced in their lives. There is no such thing as a "villain" either, as the concept of "evil" is only a matter of personal preference. The only thing that separates villains from heroes is that the villains have a different set of morals than the heroes. The villains are not inherently evil; they are just following their own set of morals.

One person can have such a viewpoint. There are always villains. For a villain to do what they do, there is always a cause behind it. The moment they come into the world, they don't immediately go about wreaking havoc. There's always a reason behind everything. Being able to understand villains doesn't make you any more evasive. You just have a profound understanding and a bigger perspective of it because, like I said, they have become as such due to various factors we can't just blame.

Outcasts were what they were.

Despite the fact that society resented them and people despised them, they were nevertheless able to exert their authority. Outcasts are normally helpless in the real world, but these characters defied that idea. To be successful in a society that despises you, you need to be an exceptionally gifted individual. In the real world, you can't be an outcast, but in the world of outcasts, you can.

Being an outcast, you might have developed an affinity for others who were marginalized. Their dislike by others just made you more fond of them. Looking back, I think it was to show yourself that no matter how despised you are by the rest of society, there will always be someone who loves you.You might have been a loner, but you were never alone. You were always loved by someone, even if it was just yourself.

There are some "clean" and "based on values" reasons for my favorite villains, such as striving to end an unfair world. A fallen idealist is at the root of their wickedness. Disillusioned by human nature, at one time, they resorted to the evil side of things.

The villain is a person who has lost their way and is willing to do anything to get it back.

But there are others that are just plain evil, and I don't know why. I think it's because they're just plain evil. They don't care about anything but themselves. Nevertheless, we should not just jump to conclusions very quickly. Let's understand the characters first, especially their past, because sometimes the present story we see is just a small portion of the bigger picture-something we don't see and realize because we are fond of just focusing on what is being presented.

It’s winsome seeing a formidable character eventually unravel a genuine smile and catch susceptibility in an assertive and in-control personality.
