Oba kosoko was the 10th oba of Lagos 1845 – 1851, ancestor of pro. Adebola Disu Igeh and prince Dele idris kosoko. He dies after 1863. Kosoko was a very strong man. He was very powerfulspiritually. He became the Oba of Lagos in 1845 after plotting a coup against Oba Akintoye in 1845, his reign was warlike, and he believed he has suffered justice for not being appointed the Oba in 1841 then in 1845. He plotted a coup against his uncle Oba Akintoye. During his reign, the British came to him to sign treaty to stop slavery but Oba Kosoko insisted on not to sign the treaty, then Lagos was bombarded by the British naval and Oba Akintoye was reinstalled as the Oba in 1851.

Oba kosoko made both negative and positive impacts to the history of Lagos and they are outlined as follows:

1. He refused to stop slavery as ordered by the British Empire.

2. He was powerful both physically and spiritually.

3 .He fought for justice.

4 .He was authoritarian because he fully over threw his uncle Akintoye through coup.

5 .He was a strong man as his reign was warlike.
