Happiness is what we all want. It has been the ultimate human pursuit since ancient times. But what is happiness really? The meaning and essence of happiness differs from person to person: some seek wealth, others seek fame and power, and still others seek peace.
In such a situation, the path to happiness is different for every person. However, research has shown that these seven keys can contribute greatly to your happiness.
UNDERSTAND WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY
happiness is a state of mind. Many people are chasing after happiness, but they do not know what it means to be happy. They don't even know what makes them happy.
Everyone is different and our concept of happiness is also different. We need to understand what makes us happy. Those who think that material things and money will make them happy, will spend their whole life chasing material wealth.
That's why we need to spend some time and think deeply about this important question, "What really makes me happy?" This will help you identify what you need to do to be happy and content in your life!
ESTABLISH A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP
Taking the time to socialize or engage in relationship-promoting activities can help you build better, stronger relationships with the people you love.
The importance of establishing a close relationship is so important that it can actually serve as the foundation for living a happy life. When you build stronger relationships with loved ones, you improve your mental health and are less likely to experience depression, stress, and anxiety. Social engagement also helps boost immunity and counteract the harmful effects of stress on your body. Remember that human beings are social animals by nature and have an intrinsic need to form relationships with others.
FIND WAYS TO CELEBRATE SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS
Life is a journey and no one knows what is going to happen. By celebrating the happiness and success that comes our way, it becomes easier to deal with whatever life throws at us. It is also a way of acknowledging things are going well in our lives.
This will help us recognize our achievements so that we can appreciate our own worth and abilities and improve our self-confidence. Finally, by celebrating our success and happiness, we are inspired in the pursuit of happiness.
ACCEPTING WHAT CANNOT BE CHANGED
For me personally, the Peace Prayer is a very powerful prayer:
Lord, grant me the peace to accept the things that I cannot change,
The courage to change everything I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
Many times we want to change things in our life, be it the shape of our body, our job status or what people think of us. We wish things were different than they are.
Accepting that there are some things in life that we change is an important part of happiness. When you accept what cannot be changed, you free up your mental energy to focus on what you can change.
To be honest, this is something I often struggled with as the father of an autistic son. I need to accept the fact that Jonathan is autistic and that I should focus my energies on helping him lead a more independent and happy life.
Accepting what cannot be changed does not mean giving up or compromising on what you deserve; It just means looking at the ****** picture and using your energy where it will work best.
LIVING IN THE MOMENT
We are always in the moment because the past is gone and the future is not here yet. We cannot experience the past or the future unless we are in the present moment. If we want to be happy in life, we must learn to live in the moment because we can only experience the present. Living in the moment also means that you are more likely to be grateful because you will appreciate what you have now.
That's all we have today so let's do our best every day with purpose and meaning and enjoy life to the fullest right now!
PRACTICE GRATITUDE AND KINDNESS
Gratitude makes us happier, healthier and even helps us live longer. It also boosts our self-esteem and has a positive effect on our relationships.
Gratitude is not merely an expression of appreciation or indebtedness. It is an attitude that promotes an optimistic view of life events in general. Gratitude helps you appreciate the good things in your life, as well as helps you recreate negative situations in your life.
Life can be tough sometimes and it is important to remember that we are all in the same storm. As human beings, we need to learn how to connect with one another and practice compassion. Showing kindness to others not only makes them feel good but also helps us feel better. Studies show that when we practice acts of kindness, our happiness and self-esteem will increase.
TAKE TIME TO ENJOY THE SIMPLE PLEASURE OF LIFE
Take time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life
Life is full of ups and downs. However, we can often be happy if we find time to enjoy life's simple pleasures.
For example, a study from the University of Warwick found that spending money on experiences that bring us joy can increase our happiness more than buying material goods.
When we spend our free time doing material things, we tend to compare what we have with what others have. But when we spend our time on experiences like climbing a mountain or learning to play the piano, our inner dialogue is about how much fun we're having, rather than how much someone else is enjoying their material.
We do not need to give up all material pleasures to be happy. All we have to do is subtract some of our assets and add in some experiences.
For me, one of the simple pleasures of life is spending quality time just relaxing and having fun with family and friends. It is all about creating pleasant memories with loved ones while enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
CONCLUSION:
Having everything in life and having everything is not happiness. It's about knowing how to make the best of the situation and enjoying what we have
