The heavy rain last night caused additional flash flooding in several areas of my town. The rain stopped for a few hours in the morning before picking up again until now. When the rain stopped, I went through my garden and checked on my plants and flowers. I discovered that one of my Air Plants had begun to bloom. Tillandsia, the scientific name for air plants, is a bromeliad that blooms only once in its life. Purple petals are found on the majority of air plant blooms.
