Thanksgiving is the joyful response of a greatful heart to divine beneficences. Every human being has in one way or the other experienced the goodness of God and therefore owes God a debt of gratitude inform of Thanksgiving. Gods goodness,which he expresses through his kindness,is imprinted on very work of his hand.the Bible therefore testifies of God's value judgment of his creation, then God looked over all he had made,and saw that it was very good.!(Genesis 1:31)God did not make evil,only good. Good is intrinsic in God.it is who he is in his very nature. God is the benchmark and the model of what is good.our lord declared with divine authority,"no one is good but one,that is, God"(Matthew 19:17).therefore, we can validly aver that goodness is the hallmark of God's work in creation. He did not created anything bad,only good.Paul explained to Timothy,"for every creature of God is good,and nothing is to be refused if it expected to be received with Thanksgiving "(1 Timothy 4:4)because every creature of God is good, they are all expected to be received with Thanksgiving Thanksgiving is therefore the appreciative attitude of mortals towards God for the good He represents and performs.God is the source of all goodness,even when they are extended to us by fellow humans.in recognition of this truth,James declared ," every good gift and every perfect give is from above,and comes down from the father of lights,with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning"(James 1:17)The smiles on your neighbour's face that brought u comfort are nothing but the expression of God's goodness. So is the encouragement and support we receive from one another. None of such would have been possible if God did not in his infinite wisdom choose to make us in His image and likeness which is grounded on goodness.

God's goodness is revealed in the so many ways He provided for us. Not a single day passes, but that we are inundated with the goodness of Godin its manifold dimensions. And to those who are still not sure they are partaking of the overflowing goodness of God;the psalmist invites to draw closer and have an experience. "Oh,taste and see that the lord is good; blessed is the man who trust in him!" (Psalm 34:8) God's goodness shows up in so many ways in our lives every single day,but it will take trust in him to draw from its infinite supplies. God is undiscriminating in extending his goodness. Affirming this divine all inclusiveness in the feast of his goodness the psalmist rhythmed,"the lord is good to all,and his tender mercies are over all his works"(psalm 145:9). This years has particular been a very trying year for many of using so many respects,and one is certain that it is only by the goodness of God that we are able to see its end.hardly had the year begun than Satan and his human collabrotors unleash a killer virus against humanity,COVID 19,so called. It was projected at its outbreak that millions,especially of African extraction would die because of it. As a matter of fact,some fellow saw a rather disquieting vision that the street of Africa were littered with corpses. As predicted, he who come only to kill,to steal and to destroy,had a field day killing but not the extent the had planned,God intervened in His goodness in answer to the prayers of his saints to mitigate the deadly scourge of the virus and thwarted the plot of the enemy.if only for this,we owe God a huge debt of thanksgiving."oh,give thanks to the lord,for He is good! For his mercy endures forever"(psalm 107:1

As we the countdown to the end of the year,it behoves all of us to begin to think of some appropriate ways to express our thanksgiving to God for enabling us to see the end of this year.

Whosoever survives this dreadful year,must dance with unspeakable joy before the Lord in the land of the living.I would have lost heart,unless I had believed I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living "(psalm 27:13) The survival motif of the believer in hard and difficult times as we have had this year is firm belief and bold confession that we will see the goodness of God in the land of the living. Having survived thus so far by His mercy,we expect that He will complete the good work he began to do in us and with us as He most graciously crowns our year with His goodness.

prepare to thank God with faith and confidence of a person who is expecting to be crowned with Divine goodness. You have very reason to be grateful to God for protecting you from the deadly pestilence and making sure that you are here to witness His crowning of the year with His goodness and for letting your path to overflow with abundance."in Jesus name
