''Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men.''

-JOHN EDWARD ACTON.

Before the era of resistance, we lived in a world of constant oppression. Everyone groaned and tended to their wounds in the protection of their homes. No one dared to raise his head talk more his voice for fear of being silenced. We all fought for freedom with silence. The predator pounced on it's prey for decades claiming it was for the good of the universe. One by one, citizens became victims of oppression by the law meant to protect them. At a point, it seemingly became generational rivalry. An older generation trying to prove the younger is naive and might as well watch their future snatched away while they grace the net with every second of their time with no sense of responsibility. Any form of resistance by the younger generation was termed rebellion. Of course, older people have all the experience and they know better. In a world where fear of what is wrong makes us strive to be better, the fear of being right also puts us in the tight corner. Then we fight within ourselves not knowing if we should do right by ourselves for the universal betterment or do right by them and wrong the universe because although the universe is a better place, they rule it. We live in a world where people die for standing on the truth they believe in, they die for not being afraid, they die for the lies they did not tell. We are like birds, born to be free but then certain constraints are built around us to force us to order. We'll never feel really accomplished as long as we stay in boundage. At another point, it became evident that the oppressor meant no good. It was sheer tyranny. An era of brutality that witnessed youths being flushed down the sewer like human lives could be made and unmade in seconds. Forces meant to protect citizens from being robbed of their material things became the real robbers. Robbers in uniform, hiding behind the law to perpetrate evil and commit atrocities against humanity. When a mad man is pushed and pushed till there's no way further, and he faces a wall, he turns back and bites you for pushing him that far. Parents could no longer afford to loose their children on the basis of justice without fair trial. Youths could no longer afford being assorted and made victims based on poor information and investigation. So the new era started when the oppression became unbearable, when we broke free from of shackles of the fear of death. There's death only when there's life. We wanted to fight and earn the life we have and not just sit till death is randomly administered to us. It was time for power to change hands and for the first time in decades, the oppressed of the nation spoke in one voice and there was unity in diversity.
